Ratio Beerworks: 2920 Larimer St, Denver, CO

I drank: Rented World, a low key and super crushable session IPA

Ratio was another stop on our very brief Denver brewery tour. The weekend that we were here was also the same weekend as the Great American Beer Festival (no we didn’t go, yes I’m sad). That said, we did bump into the folks from Grains of Wrath and 54°40’ a couple killer breweries from Southern Washington. They were both sporting some new hardware, having won a few medals at the fest.

I have to start out with saying that this isn’t your average brew pub. This place was a party and everybody was all about it. The crowd here was young and fun, the sun was out and the music was perfect. Throw in some tasty Ratio brews and you could party here all day! The staff was super friendly and very helpful, not to mention patient. They didn’t even look like they were at work, they have as much fun as anyone else there! Inside was a nice open space with a decent amount of seating area and some really fun wall art, plus the lights looks like gold disco balls.

Step outside and you get blasted with amazing colors coming from their amazing mural that covers the entire patio side of the brewery. If you’re here on a beautiful and sunny day, then there is plenty of shaded seats as well as misters to make things as comfortable as possible. There is a bank of stadium style seating against the fence that make a great spot to sit and people watch or search the details of the murals. If you’re lucky enough to be here at night, then you’ll enjoy a wonderful ceiling of twinkle lights, a favorite of Courtney’s.

Make your way past all the seating and you’ll run into some competitive corn hole games, they have a few courts so there’s some quick rotation. Another great thing about the outdoors? There is an outdoor bar, so you don’t even have to go inside for more drinks. The party just really doesn’t stop here!

There isn’t a food menu here, but there are always a couple food trucks floating around just outside the front door. If you decide to leave Ratio then you won’t go far. This whole neighborhood is packed with great places to hang out, eat, drink, and have a ton of fun.

Go here for:

  1. The big party atmosphere

  2. To be outside

  3. The neighborhood

When you make it to Ratio, make sure you’re ready for a big day because you won’t want to stop! No matter if you start here or end here, you are going to have a blast!
