Bevel Craft Brewing: 911 SE Armour Rd Suite B, Bend

I drank: Funday Session IPA - I honestly chose this beer because of the name, who doesn’t love a Sunday Funday on any day!? But it was also very flavorful for a session IPA, but still nice and light and super sessionable.

We all know that disc golf and beer go together, I can’t remember a time that I went and threw disc and there wasn’t beer around. Nate, Val, and Justin are all VERY avid disc golfers (like championship level) which you may well notice the second you walk in.

Bevel Brewing

If you don’t already know about Bevel there’s a good reason for that, they just had their grand opening on April 6th! They planned ahead well though and currently have 7 of their own beers on tap with a cider option as well. Most of what they are pouring right now is in the IPA line, which means you’ll get to try plenty of different hop varieties and combinations. Not to fret for the non IPA folks, they also have a really nice CDA and a super tasty red.

A nice stand out about Bevel is that the owners are always working. Whether they’re brewing, cleaning, or pouring beers, you can always find some combination of the crew at the brewery. You can really feel the passion and care for their beer when the same people that brewed it are also serving it to you. For the nerds in all of us it’s great because they are always super down to tell you all about the beers and their processes.

Bevel doesn’t have a food menu (they do have chips) but don’t fret! There is a solid little line up of four food trucks surrounding the back patio area, so there is always something for everyone. Also in that little back area are a few yard games, the main event being the putting basket, and plenty of seating around gas fire tables and a beautiful mural. Rumor has it that the mural outside is going to be on a yearly rotation so every summer we’ll get something new!

Being part of the “9th Street Village” offers people even more than great beer and tasty grub, it’s also home to a multitude of local artists studio and the ever popular DIY Cave. You can’t currently roam the whole area with a beer in hand, so keep that in mind before you go wandering off… Turns out there are signs that tell you that, but signs area really hard to pay attention to.

Go here for:

  1. Really tasty IPA variations

  2. Friendly and fun conversation

  3. To fall in love with disc golf!

It was super fun getting to be part of the opening day for Bevel and even more fun to see their community of friends and former competitors come out in support. The beer community is very tight knit and encouraging, combining that with a sport that has a similar vibe is a great recipe for success. I’m already stoked on everything this crew is doing, but i can’t wait to see how they are going to grow and progress! Get down to Bevel and learn a thing or two about disc golf and drink some tasty beers while you’re at it!

Cheers!
